Federal prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old Riley County man in connection with a shooting death at Fort Riley military base in Kansas.
Juwan Jackson was charged on Wednesday with one count of involuntary manslaughter in Friday's death of 16-year-old Kenyon Givens. Prosecutors say Jackson handled a firearm in a reckless manner on Sept. 11 and shot the boy. Both were residents of the base.
Prosecutors say Jackson could face up to eight years in federal prison if convicted. It wasn't immediately clear if he had obtained an attorney.
