Salina Area United Way is flexing some muscle this weekend.
Executive Director Amanda Michaelis tells KSAL News that they are preparing for a free community event geared for the entire family.
"We've got music and active games planned for kids and parents - plus a strongman show, " Michaelis said.
The event, which will feature 'Bubba the Strongman,' who is known for bench pressing motorcycles fits the path Salina's United Way is traveling, "Our new mission statement is just three words, Strengthening Our Community," Michaelis added.
The free event begins Saturday, September 19 at 2pm at the Eric Stein Stage in Oakdale Park.
