Christmas travelers beware. Those who are heading home today could encounter some nasty winter weather, particularly later in the day.
According to the National Weather Service, as the day progresses Sunday hazardous winter weather will impact much of Kansas Monday. Difficult travel conditions are expected across much of central and south central Kansas.
Periods of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will increase beginning Sunday afternoon, and especially Sunday night. Snow and sleet are expected to be heavy at times.
