A recent inspection of Salina's Landfill by officials from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment earned a grade of "zero deficiencies" and praise from Salina City Manager Jason Gage.
"Our folks out there do a heck of a job," Gage said.
"They use the Lean Principles that we have been applying in our organization - we call it continuous process improvement. And they have made a lot of headway."
Gage joined in on the KSAL Morning News Tuesday with a look around the city including the landfill which occupies a full square mile, or 656 acres.
