Ex-Kansas Prison Worker Sentenced in Meth Smuggling Case

LANSING, Kan. (AP) - A former Kansas prison worker accused of smuggling methamphetamine into the Lansing Correctional Center has been sentenced to 13 months in prison. The Kansas City Star reports that 60-year-old Jacqueline Doty of Fort Scott was sentenced Friday. She had pleaded no contest to possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. Court documents say Doty was arrested in June 2014 after she was searched at the prison and found to be carrying about 14 bags containing meth. Prosecutors said the bags were hidden in a "girdle-type undergarment" Doty was wearing, with large bandages wrapped around her midsection to hide them. ...
