A "quick change" scammer ripped off the Salina Walmart store Saturday evening.
According to Police Captain Mike Sweeney, a man turned an $18 purchase of soap and lotion into a $700 loss for the store.
The man began his transaction at the checkout lane paying for his purchase with a $100 bill. He proceeded to then confuse the clerk by making a series of requests to exchange several larger bills, $50s and $100s, into smaller bills. He ended up walking out with his purchase, and also $700 in cash.
